Nicole Adams selected as UFV’s new Chief Financial Officer

Dear Colleagues,

Upon careful consideration of the evolving needs of our university, and the changing landscape of higher education, the combined role of Chief Financial Officer and Vice-President Administration has been divided into two distinct positions.

This strategic move aims to enhance our administrative capabilities, streamline financial management, and provide focused leadership in both critical areas.

Following a search, I am very pleased to announce that Nicole Adams has been selected as UFV’s new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), a role she will assume on April 15, 2024.

Reporting to the President, Nicole will provide vision, leadership, and direction to the CFO division, including budgets and resource planning, financial services, supply chain, ancillary services, and enterprise risk.

Nicole has an extensive background in post-secondary, not-for-profit, and municipal environments and has been a leader in UFV’s financial services department for two decades, first as Associate Director from 2005 – 2017 and then as Director since 2017. In 2021, she was recognized with UFV’s annual Inspirational Leadership Award for her extraordinary people-first approach and calmness in the workplace during the pandemic.

Nicole’s invaluable expertise, leadership ability, and career experience will be invaluable as she embarks in this next role, and I look forward to working alongside her.

Jackie Hogan will continue as the university’s Vice-President Administration, leading Human Resources, Campus Planning and Facilities Management, Information Technology Services, and Safety and Security and I sincerely thank her for her many and ongoing contributions to UFV.

I would also like to recognize the work of Jackie Hogan, Dr. Garry Fehr, Dr. Teresa Kisilevich, Mark Brosinski, and Cameron Roy for their time and dedication on the search committee.

Please join me in congratulating Nicole!

Sincerely,
Dr. Joanne MacLean
President and Vice-Chancellor
