Opening night for Rhinoceros — Mar 14

You are invited to watch the upcoming UFV Theatre production, Rhinoceros, directed by Associate Professor Parjad Sharifi.

Opening night is Mar 14 at UFV Abbotsford campus in the Performance Studio (Building D, room 105). Additional shows will be held Mar 15, 16, 21, 22, and 23.

“Rhinoceros” is a humorous and absurdist masterwork by Eugène Ionesco, written in 1959. Set in a small French town, the play centers around the character Berenger, an everyman figure who is initially presented as a slacker and outsider. As the play progresses, the town is gradually taken over by rhinoceroses. Berenger finds himself increasingly isolated and powerless as he watches his friends and fellow citizens succumb to a bizarre transformation. Rhinoceros challenges audiences to ask critical existential questions about conformity and human responsibility in today’s global crisis.

Please be advised that early reservations via Eventbrite are encouraged as seating will be extremely limited. Bookings can be made through Eventbrite by visiting this link, with seat registration ending two hours before the performance start times. The cost is $5 for students and $10 for the public.
