As the holiday season approaches, UFV Safety & Security would like to remind our community that theft and vehicle break-ins escalate at this time of year.
To help protect you and your belongings, you are reminded to:
- Ensure your doors are locked and windows are properly closed when you exit your vehicle.
- Ensure your vehicle’s alarm is working and active.
- Be vigilant and take a good look around before getting in or out of your vehicle. Ask yourself if everything seems to be okay.
- Never leave valuables in your vehicle. This includes your wallet, purse, UFV ID, keys, laptops, etc.
- Any items you choose to keep in your vehicle should be stored out of sight. Do not leave anything where it can be seen.
Please remember that if your UFV ID, keys, computer, documents or other items are stolen from your vehicle, not matter where, call and report it to UFV Security ASAP at 1-855-239-7654 or online at ufv.ca/safety-and-security/report-incident/.
For more information, visit ufv.ca/safety-and-security/ok2say/.
Thank you, and enjoy a safe holiday season.
Sincerely,
Tina Kerton
