New and improved myUFV.ca launching

UFV is launching a new myUFV.ca portal that will include a major update to the course registration system, through a modern and intuitive user interface and mobile-friendly version, providing a better way for students to access UFV services.

The new portal has been partially available this summer for student feedback in preparation for the official launch on September 1, 2023.

What’s changedStudents will no longer need to authenticate via multiple different system access points and will no longer experience a hybrid version of self-service Banner 8 and self-service Banner 9. Access to student centre and student information are no longer required — all services are now accessible via the dashboard landing page.  Students will access Course Registration by clicking on the Registration dashboard link on the landing page of the redesigned myUFV. From there, they will be taken to the new registration home page. What’s new

For myUFV:

  • New look and feel provide the users with a completely new experience accessing online services.
  • Personalized dashboard lets the users organize and bookmark the information seen on the landing page.
  • Integration with Outlook and OneDrive will display the 10 most recent inbox emails (both read and unread) from a user’s Outlook account and the 10 most recently modified documents from a user’s OneDrive account.
  • Notifications let users know about new cards and contents, holds from Banner,  and reminders from the To-Do List card.

For registration:

  • Prepare for Registration allows students to view their registration time and academic status and will display any holds preventing registration. Students can also see if a permit/override has been entered into their account.
  • Plan Ahead enables students to create multiple course plans and at the time of registration simply load their preselected plan to register. Learn more here:  Watch our “How to create a registration plan” video
  • Register for Classes lets the students enter the CRN or search class names as usual, but they now have the option to load their course plan. Learn more here:  Watch our “How to register for classes” video
  • View Registration Information gives the student an option to print or email their schedule to themselves.
  • Browse Classes allows everyone to view the same search options and results without the need to log in. The new Browse Classes feature will replace the Interactive Course Finder.
