Sad news: retiree Brian Wiebe has passed away

Many at UFV will be saddened to hear that Brian Wiebe has passed away. A longtime member of the Facilities team, Brian passed away suddenly on March 9, 2023.

His former colleague Brandon Tournier shared this statement with us:

“Brian was a man who lived his family. He would do anything for his parents (while they were still alive) and his sisters. Traveling was one of Brian’s favourite pastimes. Hawaii, Mexico, and China are just some of the places he visited. He loved muscle cars from the ’60s and could tell the make, year, and model at just a glance. Brian worked in Shipping and Receiving for many years before moving over to the Facilities department at UFV. Whether it was fixing something in your office or shovelling snow outside, he was always on time and ready to work. He was a good colleague and friend and will be greatly missed.

Brian’s celebration of  life will be held on Sunday, July 2, from 1230-330 pm at the Chilliwack Curling Club.
