UFV Sweater Week — Feb 13-17

To help raise awareness about energy consumption and climate change, UFV will be reducing temperatures university-wide from Feb 13-17. We can conserve energy and have a little fun along the way with Sweater Week! Instead of burning our usual amount of natural gas, we can reduce temperatures, and bundle up in sweaters for the week. The Office of Sustainability will be posting daily sweater themes for the week along with energy-saving tips and interactive surveys for how we can make a difference individually. We hope to promote the fact that our combined small efforts can make a significant impact.

For extra incentive, we will be running a week-long photo contest for staff, faculty, and students. Participants may simply post a photo in their themed sweater on their Instagram story and tag @sustainableufv. You can also email your photo to sustainability@ufv.ca if you don’t have/use social media. There will be prizes for each daily category as well as a grand prize at the end of the week for “most dedicated” and one for employee group submission.

The sweater themes are:
– Merch Monday
– Valentine’s Tuesday
– Woke up like this Wednesday
– Throwback Thursday
-Earth tone Friday
