UFV Employee Giving campaign — Thank you!

That’s a wrap! Thank you to all staff who supported the 2022 UFV Employee Giving campaign.

During the month of November, UFV employees showed their connection to community by getting involved in a number of ways, with a strong finale of support on Giving Tuesday on Nov. 29.

Together, UFV employees donated more than $14,500 in support of the United Way and UFV.

More than 15% of the total amount raised was in support of the United Way and programs such as food security, seniors, and community. When we asked employee donor Jennifer Russell why she gives to the United Way, she said: “the United Way is important to me as it helps recipients move from challenging situations to possibility. The United Way funds stay in my community, and improve education, income, and health. Contributing is easy through payroll deduction and there are many ways to volunteer to support this organization as well.”

A total of 133 UFV employees donated to the UFV’s Emerging Priorities Fund, raising $12,020.87 in matching funds — doubling their collective impact! Tanya Vanpraseuth, first-time donor to UFV, decided to give because of her experience at UFV. “When I was a student, I saw the impact UFV’s giving initiatives had on students — whether it was through scholarships, providing food, or academic support programs. Now that I’m an employee, I’m inspired to give back to the same community and help UFV’s impact grow larger.”

Our hearts are full as we head into this holiday season. Thank you all again for your support and generosity.

There is still time to give. Donation and payroll deductions can still be set up in support of United Way and UFV until December 31, 2022. “I want to give whenever I can because many people work hard but still struggle to support their family. I can imagine the feelings of worry within the family as they try to meet the financial demands. I hope what I can give to the United Way will help make a difference while they are going through difficult times.” — Carrie Paproski, Manager, Continuing Education
