‘Toad People’ film screening and letter-writing event — Nov 30

The UFV Wildlife Protection Club is collaborating with Nature Canada as part of its cross-country bus tour collecting letters and art from BC residents explaining why nature deserves our protection. These letters will be delivered to Justin Trudeau in Montreal next month during the UN Conference on Biodiversity (Nature COP) to motivate strong commitments to the protection of natural areas in Canada.

We will be screening the film Toad People, a documentary that features Chilliwack resident Steve Clegg and other passionate people across BC who are taking action to save the wildlife in their backyard, whether it’s toads, mountain caribou, rattlesnakes or barn owls. Much of the documentary is filmed in the Fraser Valley and will show viewers how local people can lead the protection of biodiversity in Canada.

Following the film will be a letter-writing period with booths set up where attendees can fill out postcards, which will be delivered to Justin Trudeau.

The event will have food and beverages available.
