Online timesheet entry system — coming spring 2023!

Financial Services is pleased to announce that Web Time Entry (WTE) for hourly employees is coming in spring 2023. Web Time Entry is an electronic web-based time entry system designed to give UFV’s hourly timesheet employees a better way to report, track and review their hours. Web Time Entry improves accuracy and eliminates loss or delays in processing paper or emailed timesheets.

The Web Time Entry system will allow employees to visit myUFV.ca, enter hours worked, and submit their time and attendance electronically. The time worked will be approved online by their designated supervisor/approver and sent electronically to Payroll Services for processing.

Who will be using online timesheets?

  • Auxiliaries
  • Co-op students
  • Lab and research assistants
  • Research students
  • Work Study students
  • Time sheet/Hourly Faculty
  • Continuing Education & Industry Training instructors.

What are the benefits of moving to Web Time Entry?

  • Employees can make changes to timesheets before submitting for approval
  • Due to the self-service nature of the system, employees have more accessibility and control over their timesheet
  • Approvers can review and approve timesheets by logging into Banner Self Service
  • There is 24/7 access to current timesheets from anywhere with internet access
  • Timesheets cannot be accessed by unauthorized employees, making them more secure
  • Timesheets cannot get misplaced or omitted
  • Improves sustainability by reducing paper/printing.

Financial Services is targeting early to mid-spring for completion of the transition to Web Time Entry. Updates will be provided through various communication channels, including the UFV Payroll webpage. User guides will be made available, and sessions will be scheduled to demonstrate the system and provide training on how to use its functionality for all staff and approvers who will be affected.
