The Laramie Project: UFV Theatre info session & open call — Oct 25 or 27

Please join us on either Tues, Oct 25 at 11 am or Thurs, Oct 27, at 4 pm in Abby D105 for a one-hour open session

RSVP on Eventbrite.

About the play:
The Laramie Project is a verbatim theatre piece constructed from transcripts of over 200 interviews. The play was created by Moises Kaufman and the members of the Tectonic Theatre Project (NYC) in the aftermath of the brutal murder of Matthew Shepard, a young gay man, in Laramie, Wyoming, in 1998.

The piece reveals a community grappling with violence, responsibility, and healing. It showcases how theatre is a brave space for us to engage with this together.

About the Winter production:
Directed by Theatre professor Shelley Liebembuk, the performance will have actors portraying multiple characters [there are over 60 characters in the show!] and engaging with projections, movement, and song. It is an opportunity for actors to expand their range of character work and build a strong collective ensemble.

To find out more/ get involved:
Director Shelley Liebembuk will be holding a fun one-hour session, to provide info and invite folks to a first open rehearsal in creating characters and working with scenes from the play.

No previous acting experience is required!
