Political Science Department cordially invites you to a Politalk special lecture ‘Op PROJECTION: A journey from the eyes of the XO HMCS Moncton’.

From January 19, 2022, until April 15, HMCS Moncton, along with their sister ship HMCS Goose Bay, sailed from CFB Halifax to Africa’s Gulf of Guinea as part of Op PROJECTION, a display of Canada’s commitment to global peace. This presentation will recount the activities of HMCS Moncton and offer the opportunity to learn more from the Executive Officer (XO) of the ship.

Lieutenant (Navy) Gary Newman holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences from University of Ottawa and is eager to finish his Master of Arts in Disaster and Emergency Management from Royal Roads University. He enjoys taking his family on camping trips during the summer, reading books to his children, and taking his wife on date nights. Gary lives in Halifax with his wife, Sarah. They have two children.
