Reminders: COVID-19 layers of protection

As we look to return to campus and the excitement of the Fall semester, it is important to remember that while we have progressed in the pandemic battle, BC’s health experts indicate COVID-19 is still present in our communities.

As the pandemic evolves, UFV remains committed to maintaining a healthy and safe environment for faculty, staff, and students. The University continues to follow the science-based guidelines outlined by Dr. Bonnie Henry and the BC CDC guidelines for post-secondary institutes.

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19 variants, UFV reminds you to:

  • stay home if you are sick or have symptoms (and contact your supervisor to discuss options)
  • get vaccinated and stay current with booster shots as you become eligible
  • wash your hands regularly
  • use sanitizer stations on campus
  • stay informed by visiting and bookmarking the UFV Return to Campus page.

Masks remain optional and it’s important to respect that many people will choose to wear one this Fall.

As we have done throughout the pandemic, UFV will monitor the COVID-19 situation and adhere to the guidelines recommended by the Provincial Health Office. This also applies to the emerging monkeypox virus. Should guidelines for either health issue change, UFV will adapt accordingly and communicate frequently.

If you have questions, please email Environmental Health and Safety at ehs@ufv.ca.

Thank you and have a great Fall semester.
