UFV Counselling Presents: Get Calm Quick Zoom Series!
Learn practical research-based strategies for calming your thoughts, managing your feelings, and relaxing your body.
Would you like to restore your connection of mind and body and cultivate a sense of empowerment, choice, and peace? By focusing on the felt sense of the body to inform choice-making, Trauma Centre Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) allows participants to restore their connection of mind and body and cultivate a sense of agency that is often compromised as a result of trauma. TCTSY is especially effective for people with anxiety or trauma and for people that struggle to settle their minds.
Trauma-sensitive yoga is a practice that provides a way to move and stretch in accordance with your unique body in a moment of time. Research shows that TCTSY helps to heal from overwhelming times and offers an experience of choice, agency, and empowerment. All of which are antidotes to trauma experiences that may be disempowering.
The practice is typically done sitting or standing, your choice, in comfortable clothing that allows freedom to stretch and move. If possible, establishing a safe and private place to practice may be most beneficial.
Join UFV counsellor Tia Noble in practicing movement, breath, and mindful awareness to reset and empower your mind and body.
