There are all sorts of feelings about the Return to Campus after our prolonged period of working, teaching, and studying from home due to the pandemic.
The University Relations team wants to capture and express some of those feelings as we prepare collectively for the start of the fall semester. And we’re inviting faculty, staff, and administrators to help us.
How can you participate?
First Day photos
We are looking for “First Day” photo post participants. You know those ‘first-day-of-school’ photos that moms love to post to Facebook and Instagram? We’d like to recreate that vibe with ‘back to school/work on campus’ photos from a cross-section of UFV people. If you’re willing to participate, please send an email to marcom@ufv.ca.
Notes of encouragement
Did you ever receive a note of encouragement from a parent in your lunch bag, or a welcome-back card from a friend?
We’d like to share similar notes on our social media, to recognize and support our students and faculty.

Dear First-Year student:
We know the past two years of high school were tough ones, what with extended closures, learning from home, then learning at school in smaller cohorts without the usual extracurricular activities. Not to mention having to isolate if you were exposed to COVID-19. But you made it through! Welcome to on-campus life at UFV. Even though we still face some restrictions and have some fears due to the pandemic, we hope you’ll enjoy getting to know your fellow students and professors in person.
