UFV Provost and VP Academic James Mandigo and UFV Human Resources are seeking Expressions of Interest from internal members of the UFV community to serve on Selection Advisory Committees (SACs) for two Deans who will commence five-year terms starting January 1, 2022:
– Dean, Faculty of Professional Studies
– Dean, (new) Faculty of Education, Community, and Human Development (subject to approval)
Eligible individuals are asked to indicate their interest to serve on an SAC by providing: i) their name (and preferred pronouns if desired); ii) home department; iii) contact information; iv) affiliation status within UFV; v) a short paragraph outlining their interest to serve; and vi) explanation of how their participation on the SAC will strengthen the University’s commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Please also indicate which SAC you would like to serve on.
This call is open to internal employees which includes permanent faculty, staff, and exempt employees. Individuals who are on sabbatical or education/administrative leave are not eligible to serve on the SACs.
It is anticipated that the total membership of the SACs will be eight members – four members appointed by the Provost through this call, and four members from the Faculties who are chosen by members of the Faculty though a separate process (as per Article 11.9 in the Collective Agreement). Human Resources is sending out separate email for that process.
The SACs will convene in early September and all members must be willing to serve on the committee until a successful candidate has been recommended.
