UFV Employee password reset and password re-use

UFV is constantly working to improve our security posture.  Did you know compromised passwords are responsible for 81% of hacking-related incidents?  To protect the security of UFV, our employees, and our students we are working hard to implement modern security practices.

Password resets:
When an employee is changing their password, we want to ensure they are choosing a new password, and not reusing the same, potentially compromised password.

Keeping in line with security best practices, UFV is enabling a policy to ensure password resets don’t allow reusing the same password.

Will I notice any changes?
This change will only be visible when attempting to reset your password and choosing the same password as before. You will be prompted to pick a new, unique, and strong password.

What’s next?
UFV is always taking steps to improve our security and password security is incredibly important. Our goal is to align with security industry best practices for passwords.

And don’t worry, this doesn’t mean having to reset your password every 90 days!
Stay tuned for more information!
