Coldest Night of the Year walk — Feb 20

It’s cold out there. The Coldest Night of the Year is a covid-safe, family-friendly walk to raise money for charities serving people experiencing homelessness, hurt, and hunger. Walk with us virtually or in-person on February 20, 2021 – there’s a place for everyone!

UFV is looking for team members!

Consider joining our UFV team and walk with us on Saturday, February 20. This year the walk supports the Ann Davis Transition Society in Chilliwack.

For 40 years, Ann Davis Transition Society has been committed to helping the most vulnerable women and children in our community find safe and secure shelter.

Through education, prevention and support, our services support all ages and genders who have been affected by abuse and violence. We provide access to Transition Homes for women and children fleeing abusive and violent situations; counselling; legal advocacy, supervised visits, outreach and various programs that all make a difference in our very own community. Our goal is to deliver continued support as the need for help has increased this year.

Last year we provided bed stays for 6.,639 women and 1,435 children but sadly we had to turn away 200 women and 98 children who were in need, as we had no room and they had no place to go. By contributing, your efforts will help secure services and supports. You truly can make a difference!

The Coldest Night of the Year is a walk that raises money for folks in our community who need our help. Some of them hungry, more than a few hurting and regrettably, some who are homeless too. Adults, moms and kids, seniors and youth as well.

P.S. Last year, over 26,000 walkers across Canada joined this event raising just under $6.5 million — it’s Canada’s National Walk for Homelessness.
