Support UFV students on Giving Tuesday — Dec 1

This year has challenged us in ways we could not have anticipated, and has been particularly hard on those struggling financially.

UFV’s Financial Aid Office and UFV-SUS Food Bank have seen unprecedented demand this year, making the annual UFV/United Way Employee “Make a Difference” Campaign all the more urgent.

Since were unable to kick off this year’s campaign with our traditional pancake breakfasts at the Abbotsford and Chilliwack campuses (TTC and Building A), University Relations organized the UFV/United Way Virtual Breakfast Cook-Off. Over 100 staff and faculty gathered together remotely for a bit of lighthearted fun to watch Chefs Joanne Macleod, James Mandigo, Satwinder Bains and Lenore Newman make crepes two ways, and to learn about the extreme financial need faced by students and youth in our community.

UFV’s tradition of community spirit has enabled us to achieve so much together. If you are able, please consider donating to the United Way to support food insecurity, or to the UFV Student Emergency Fund to support students struggling to cover every day necessities such as groceries, rent, or internet for remote learning.

To make your 2020 donation to UFV, the United Way, or both, please visit Make a Difference today. The official campaign concludes on Giving Tuesday, and all donations made to UFV by Dec 1 will be matched, doubling your impact!

Making a difference is a great feeling — knowing you’ve helped someone, solved a problem, changed a life. We thank those of you who have already donated this year through payroll deduction or one time gifts. The ripple effect of your generosity is exponential!
