Breakfast cook off to launch employee giving campaign

Chef Sian Hurley will guide our guest chefs through the UFV breakfast cook off.

Last year to kick off our Employee Giving campaign with the United Way, we enjoyed a pancake breakfast together. Our leadership team and colleagues served up a hot breakfast to UFV employees on both Abbotsford and Chilliwack campuses. This year looks a little different.

But this is a great opportunity for us to come together as a staff, enjoy each other’s company and have some fun together even if we are physically apart.
So on Tuesday, November 17, at 8 am – in collaboration with UFV’s Culinary Arts program, we will have a breakfast cook off! Prizes will be at stake for cooks and audience members on the day — and for staff who pick up the challenge, and post pictures of their cook-off inspired breakfasts from Nov 17 to Dec 1.
President Joanne MacLean will be cooking from her home kitchen for her partner, along side our five other UFV celebrity chefs cooking from their homes. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll be inspired. Stay tuned for more and mark your calendar!

And in the meantime, here’s a little video from Chef Sian to get us started with some tips to make a perfect sunny-side-up egg — a classic breakfast egg that’s good for any time of day.
