ASC welcomes Learning Strategist Tara Corman

The Academic Success Centre is delighted to welcome Tara Corman to our team as Learning Strategist.

Tara was drawn to UFV’s student-centred focus on diverse pathways and inclusive education, and she looks forward to contributing to the Academic Success Centre’s commitment to providing flexible and peer-driven academic support. She eagerly awaits a return to campus and the chance to meet and work with students in the newly renovated Academic Success Centre on the Chilliwack campus at CEP. Until then, having experienced online learning from the role of both student and instructor, Tara hopes to help students gain confidence and achieve success as they adapt to online learning.

Tara specializes in international education and academic writing. Her professional experience includes teaching English as an Additional Language, working in a Writing Centre, developing experiential education initiatives for post-secondary students, and teaching online courses in university studies.

Originally from Calgary, Tara lived and worked in Qatar, Northern Ireland, and PEI before returning west to Chilliwack in 2019. She spends much of her free time outdoors hiking and exploring the Fraser Valley. When she’s not busy trying to tire out her golden doodle and twin boys, Tara also enjoys finding some quiet moments to garden, read, or go for a swim.
