Volunteers needed to tutor high-risk youth

Many K-12 students in the public school system are lacking support at home with the transition to remote learning. Positive adult connections made at school are largely unavailable right now, and many of these students’ home environments are un-supportive, or even unsafe. We are recruiting volunteers (either faculty or students) to commit to online tutoring sessions at least once a week (via Bluejeans) through the end of the school year, with the goal of establishing mentorship connections that can continue on a less frequent basis over the summer months.

A criminal record check is required for all volunteers, and a high degree of empathy is also needed. Available tutoring subjects vary, and you can provide general tutoring support, or specialize in one or more subjects.
