Intercultural Fluency — March 5

This session intends to provide employees and team an introduction and a general level of knowledge about intercultural fluency, its concepts and tools. It will provide intercultural fluency training and how to use this tool in an academic environment.

General learning objectives:

Participants will:

  • better understand how valuing cultural diversity and strengthening connections across differences improves employee well-being and workplace engagement
  • examine the different kinds of diversity and gain insight into how one’s own identity shapes one’s own views, values, and perceptions in the workplace
    gain insight into how bias creates obstacles to inclusion on an individual, organizational and societal level
  • Learn how to recognize and address bias and actively engage tools and strategies to create more positive and productive diverse teams and workplaces
  • Look into mission/vision of UFV and explore how intercultural fluency can be integrated into that.
