Self-Studies in Higher Education Session 1 — Sept 18

The Adult Education department is initiating the second of an annual, themed series of study groups aimed at broadening and deepening our reflective practices and collegial relations as teachers, educators, and administrators in higher education.

Session 1: Project Based Learning
Wed, Sept 18
11 am-1 pm
Abby B133

Project Based Learning (PBL) has been identified as a high impact practice in K-12 and post-secondary educational contexts alike. PBL is a potential vehicle for supporting post-secondary students in learning a suite of competencies while making their study relevant to their target work, civic, and academic contexts. In this session, attendees will get an overview of PBL, discuss research findings on its benefits, and expand on how PBL is and can be manifested at UFV in and beyond individual courses.
