Interpret: Creative and Performing Arts Festival — April 26

The second annual Interpret: Creative and Performing Arts Festival celebrates the arts at UFV and features the work of Visual Arts, Theatre, and Creative Writing students. Classical pianist Kimball Gallagher will open the festival and address his entrepreneurial approach to music education and arts advocacy. He is the founder of 88 International, a non-profit organization based in New York that was established in 2015 after Gallagher’s 30-country, seven-continent, and 338-concert tour around the world.

Performances and exhibits will be presented in the S’eliyemetaxwtexw Art Gallery, and throughout B, C, and D buildings in hallways, classrooms, and public spaces. Some of the festivities will include diverse exhibits and performances by the Visual Arts graduating class, a collaboratively devised theatre performance, staged readings, and performance art.

Please join us in celebrating our student artists. VA graduates: Dorothy Keating, Katherine Searle, Madeline Hildebrandt, Casse de Jong, Jenny Kingma, Andrew Muth, Sharon Clark, Lynden Chan, Jenna Cook, Austin Kwidzinski, Susan Thompson, Kaylee Stamm, Amanda Garcia. Devised Performance collaborators: Belle Hernberg-Johnson, Danielle Edwards, Desiree Hale, Haotian (Cedric) Liu, Kirsten MacDonald, Xiao (Sherry) RuoYu, Yifan Gong, as well as students from Theatre and Creative Writing.

This is the best night of the year, and we hope to see you there!
