Ian McAskill’s retirement social — Aug 30

Ian  McAskill completed 36 years of service at UFV, during which time he served various institutional roles with distinction and a resounding commitment to core institutional values.

Prior to secondment associated with administrative positions in 2006, Ian taught as a member of the Economics department for 25 years. He was actively engaged both academically and in service during this time. In 2015, after almost a decade of administrative service, he returned to the Economics department as a faculty member.

“Ian has been an outstanding asset to UFV, in both his commitment to providing a unique and valuable undergraduate economics curriculum and his relentless pursuit of core institutional values in his service to its administration,” notes current Economics department head Michael Maschek. “He was instrumental to the Economics department in its formative years and continues to be a key source of wisdom and guidance to its younger faculty members. Ian’s positive influence as a colleague and mentor will far outlive his tenure with the department and university.”

As Ian gets ready for retirement we ask that you come and celebrate with us in Abby F124 on Thurs, August 30, from noon to 1 pm.
