Scroll Through History — an exhibit by Christopher Friesen — to June 6

In “Scroll Through History” Christopher Friesen uses both iconic and obscure works by French master Jean Baptiste Camille Corot (1796 – 1875) to explore legacies, tendencies of modern painting and to consider notions of influence, quotation, authorship, knowledge and the “real” in the age of digital reproduction. This exhibition features paintings from “Silvery Tones” shown at the Elissa Cristall Gallery in 2016 as well as “Search by Image” shown at The Reach Gallery in Abbotsford 2018. This exhibition also features new works and previously unseen works. The exhibition title “Scroll through history” serves both as a reference to past works and also as a reference to place.

Exhibition runs to June 6, 2018
