Timetable forum — May 7

Dear colleagues,

Please join me and other campus leaders on Monday, May 7, for an interactive discussion on classroom scheduling and its impact on student success. We have recently undertaken an in-depth review of instructional space utilization and will present some of the findings. The session will start with coffee and light refreshments at 8:30 am followed by presentations and discussions.

Topics:

  • The Strategic Enrolment Plan and its influence on student enrolment, retention and success
  • Update on the recommendations of the Registration and Scheduling Task Force
  • Outline the results of the consultant’s report on instructional space utilization
  • Review scheduling practices and how they affect:
    • Classroom utilization
    • Days and time of day utilization
    • Meeting pattern utilization
  • Understand course offering practices that impact our instructional capacity
  • Review information about course offerings that potentially impact student access to needed courses

 

The forum will be facilitated by Jody Gordon, Vice-President Students and Enrolment Management. We look forward to your input on the challenges and opportunities in continuing to develop a student-centric class schedule.
