Under the BC Fire Code, the fire systems at the Abbotsford and Chilliwack campuses are required to undergo annual testing. We have Tyco Integrated Fire & Security performing the annual testing of fire panels and fire bells for the month of July. Testing will be taking place during the following two weeks:
UFV Abbotsford — July 17-21 starting at 7:30 am
UFV Chilliwack — July 24-28 starting at 7:30 am
Please note that there will be testing of bells and audio speakers during this time. Most of the bell ringing will take place early morning before classes start so as not to disrupt normal hours of operation. Some buildings have been upgraded to audio speakers, so there will also be an announcement made over the PA system to indicate fire bell testing is taking place, and that there is no need to evacuate the buildings during this testing period.
