BASA tax service for students

It’s tax season again! Fortunately for UFV students, BASA (Business Administration Students Association) will once again be running the BASA tax service to prepare tax returns for UFV students and the public for as little as $25.

About the BASA tax service
This is a student-lea program that gives the students at UFV a convenient and inexpensive opportunity to have their 2016 tax return completed. All of our staff are students at UFV and have volunteered for their position to gain valuable accounting experience. Our prepares have received training by our sponsoring firm, MNP LLP.

Unfortunately, we cannot do returns for businesses or international students.

We will be set up in building B by the Office of the Registrar between from 8:30 am and 2:30 pm.

Info you will need to start the return:
2016 Notice of Assessment (unless you are a first time filer), Social Insurance Number (SIN), and your tax forms.
Other Info:
Students will be able to print their T2202A Tax Credit Form and bring them in with their other slips.
The T2202A can be retrieved from MyUFV through their Student Information Tab, Canadian Tax Forms, T2202A.
Common claims are charitable donations, transit passes, and medical expenses.
T4: Employment Income (Remuneration)
T3: Trust Income
T5: Investment Income
If you have any more questions, drop by and ask one of our volunteers.
We look forward to seeing you!
