TED is a global foundation devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading which brings together some of the world’s leading thinkers and doers to share what they are most passionate about. Attendees have called it “the ultimate brain spa” and “a journey into the future.” In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
TEDxChilliwack is a not-for-profit, annual one-day free event held in Chilliwack, British Columbia. Come hear live speakers share innovative and optimistic ideas with a community of open and curious minds searching for ways to make a difference. The theme of TEDx Chilliwack 2017 is Future Shapers: Minds of The Next Generation. UFV alumnus Tim McAlpine, owner and creative director of Currency Marketing, is on the steering committee of TEDxChilliwack, and invites members of the UFV community to attend or apply.
CALL FOR SPEAKERS: We are actively calling for Speakers to apply for auditions taking place on Feb 16th, Feb 23rd and March 2nd at Cottonwood Cinemas in Chilliwack, in front of a group of four judges. Speakers chosen for TEDx Chilliwack 2017 — being held at G.W. Graham Middle-Secondary School in Sardis on Sat, April 8 — will be provided with a free speakers coach.
