UFV community rowing challenge — open to employees, students, and friends

UFV Rowing is back at and invites all Faculty, Staff, significant others, and friends to take up this fun challenge!  Join us in this tradition of excellence by participating in the community rowing challenge. All levels of experience welcome. Row with your colleagues twice a week through April and May. This is a  great team-building opportunity. Learn and refine basic boat handling, rowing, and racing skills. Concludes with an exciting regatta and race against other crews in the Deep Cove Community Challenge.

Location: Panorama Park, Deep Cove.  All practices will run out of the Fort Langley Rowing Centre, on  the lovely Bedford Channel — home of UFV Rowing.

The program will start week of April 10, and run for eight weeks, and culminating in a regatta on  Sat, June 4 from 8 am–2 pm. 

Sessions will run twice a week on evenings, with approximate times 5:30-7:15pm. (but we are flexible if this time doesn’t work for you….let us know!)

Registration Includes:

–      8 Weeks of rowing twice weekly in Eights or  Quads. (equipment fee)

–      Coaching for each crew.

–       Liability Insurance to cover all participants

–      Race entry fee

Let us know what days of the week you would prefer:
Monday/Wednesdays OR Tuesday/Thursdays! 

Tips:

  • Size is not a barrier! Winning teams are the result of teamwork, enthusiasm, and determination.
  • All participants must have basic swimming skills and sign a waiver.
