The School of Business Research Development program began the New Year with a presentation from one of its newest faculty members. Dr. Sha Liao presented her work titled “leveraging suppliers to calibrate product specifications.”
The second hour, Brad Whittaker from the research office shared information about internal/external funding opportunities and the role of the research office in supporting faculty members to seek out those opportunities. He also explained the process associated with creating research assistants posts through work study. Jenn MacDonald accompanied him and outlined the process for obtaining ethics approval for faculty research, as well as for students doing research as a part of their classes. All three topics were of interest to faculty members from across the School of Business, as evidenced by the lively questions and discussion following each presentation.
The Research Development program at the UFV School of Business has been established to support us in achieving our strategic goal to “engage in research and scholarly activities that will drive excellence in all of our work.”
The program is designed to help both early career faculty and those who would like to freshen up on their existing knowledge and skills.
Although offered by the UFV School of Business, all seminars and workshops in our Research Development program are open to all UFV faculty and to UFV students enrolled in a master’s program, and post-grad students who work at UFV.
