Help create a more food-secure future — Feeding 9 Billion challenge

F9B-Minimal-Mock-upThink you’ve got what it takes to create a business model related to sustainability, food, and universities in 24 hours?

Feeding 9 Billion is a nationwide challenge held at universities across Canada. Third- and fourth- year students at UFV are invited to participate in this 24-hour event centered on creating buisness plans related to sustainable campus food systems.

This is UFV’s first year participating, and we are inviting students from all areas of study to join. In fact, interdisciplinary teams are a requirement (at least two disciplines per team).

The challenge is on Sat, Oct 17, starting at 10 am, and runs until Sun, Oct 18 at noon. Over the 26-hour period, there will be workshops, contests, and full mentorship support from experts and professors to make sure your team is on track. There will also be opportunities to expand your ideas after the challenge in a directed studies capacity.

First place team wins $1,000! Second and third place prizes also available. Meals provided.
