The UFV Alumni Association is now accepting nominations for the 2015 Distinguished Alumni Awards. The traditional Distinguished Alumni Award will be conferred upon a graduate of the institution who has achieved outstanding distinction in career, educational achievement, or community service.
The second award, the Young Distinguished Alumni award, will go to a graduate of UFV who is 35 years of age or younger and who has achieved outstanding distinction in the above categories. Both awards recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of exceptional alumni.
Winners of these awards will join the ranks of past recipients including Patti MacAhonic (BA’03) and Tanya Jonker, (BA ’09); Stu Chahal (BCIS ’05) and Evan Wiens (BSc ‘06); Aboriginal sculptor and Government advisor George Hemeon, (BA’04) and Alex McAulay, (BBA ’07); and human rights and immigration lawyer, Shirzad Ahmed (UT ’92).
The deadline for application is May 1.
If you know of an alumnus worthy of this distinction we encourage you to nominate them. All nominees will be honored and celebrated at our annual awards event in the fall.
