As part of our continuous upgrades to improve energy efficiency, we are adding metering to our buildings. To do this requires that we shut down the natural gas to the building that we are adding the metering to.
On Tuesday night, March 17, we will be installing the metering for Abbotsford campus Building D. This will require shutting down the incoming natural gas to Building D. The gas will be off for approximately six hours starting at 11 pm on March 17. This will shut down the domestic hot water and the heating hot water systems. If you are aware of another natural gas appliance in Building D that will be affected, please let facilities know. The contractor will ensure all the natural gas devices are back operating when the work is completed.
On Wednesday night, March 18, we will be installing the metering for Abbotsford campus Building G. This will require shutting down the incoming natural gas to Building G. The gas will be off for approximately six hours starting at 11 pm on March 18. This will shut down the domestic hot water, the heating hot water and the steam humidification systems. If you are aware of another natural gas appliance in Building G that will be affected, please let facilities know. The contractor will ensure all the natural gas devices are back operating when the work is completed.
If this will cause you any issues (i.e. equipment that will need to be kept running, equipment needing to be restarted, etc.), please call the Facilities service desk at 604-854-4542.
Thanks for your patience during this upgrade.
