As a collaboration between the UFV’s Lens of Empowerment Project, Visual Arts, Indigenous Studies and UFV International, this event is sure to be the cherry on top of International Education Week 2014 events.
In the film The Hands of History, Vancouver filmmaker Loretta Todd and The National Film Board honour the gifts of four remarkable First Nations women artists: Doreen Jensen, Rena Point Bolton, Jane Ash Poitras and Joane Cardinal-Schubert. If you’ve never seen this film, it’s time you did.
Stó:lō artist, activist and weaver, Rena Point Bolton, recently shared her life story in Xweliqwiya: The Life of a Stó:lō Matriarch, published by Athabasca University Press in 2013.
