Policy consultation – Discrimination, Bullying and Harassment Prevention — Dec 8

The following policies are out for consultation:

Discrimination, Bullying and Harassment Prevention (18) (revised): In the fall of 2013, WorkSafe BC approved a new policy on workplace bullying and harassment. The new policy requires all workplaces in British Columbia to draft and implement a policy on the prevention of workplace bullying and harassment. The existing policy, Harassment Prevention Policy, was last amended in 2007 and requires revision to bring it in line with the new WorkSafe BC policy.

Safe Disclosure (new): The newly proposed policy provides a disclosure mechanism for students, volunteers or employees in the university to confidentially disclose wrongdoing, unethical conduct, fraud or abuse of public trust.

As part of the consultation process, the UFV community is invited to submit feedback to Kimberly Burridge, Legal Counsel, Labour and Employment, Human Resources (Kimberly.burridge@ufv.ca) by 4 pm on Dec 8.

The draft policies are available on the Secretariat webpage at: http://www.ufv.ca/secretariat/policies_review/
