UFV volleyballers take on Douglas at home

The University of the Fraser Valley volleyball teams are in action at home this weekend vs. the Douglas Royals.
Games are Friday and Saturday at the Student Activity Centre North Gym, with the women playing at 6 pm followed by the men at 8 pm both nights.
Both Cascades teams are ranked nationally coming into the weekend – the women (6-2) are No. 6 in the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA) poll, while the men (5-3) made their season debut in the CCAA rankings this week, coming in at No. 15.
The men’s match-up vs. Douglas is particularly intriguing, as the Royals (6-0) are first in the PacWest conference and ranked No. 2 nationally. The Douglas women sit fifth in the PacWest at 2-4.
“We know it’s going to be a battle, but so far we’ve really played well at home and we hope to continue that trend this weekend,” UFV men’s volleyball coach Kyle Donen said. “We just need to believe in what we’re doing and execute well.”
