Every Girl Matters Day at Chilliwack campus library — Oct 8

UFV’s Chilliwack campus Library is celebrating Every Girl Matters Day on Wed, Oct 8, with treats and a library display. While the United Nations Day of the Girl Child and the actual Every Girl Matters Day is Oct 11, we’re celebrating on Wednesday because more students will be in the library on Wednesday than Saturday.

Come into the Chilliwack campus library and view resources about gendercide — some estimate as high as 100 million missing baby girls, lack of access for girls to adequate education, food and shelter, crimes against women and sex selection, or check out the online library display here: http://www.ufv.ca/library/exhibits–events/every-girl-matters/.

Girlkind is hosting an Every Girl Matters Day event at the Reach Gallery on Sat, Oct 11. For more information, click here: https://www.facebook.com/events/698216110270876/ and here: http://girlkind.org/.

Oct 11 is also the United Nations Day of the Girl Child “to recognize girls’ rights and the unique challenges girls face around the world.” For information, click here: http://www.un.org/en/events/girlchild/.

We hope to see you in Chilliwack library for treats on Wednesday!
