Trevor Carolan to speak on Group of Seven master Frederick Varley

UFV English professor Trevor Carolan will be speaking on Group of Seven Artist Frederick Varley this weekend.

This important member of Canada’s iconic Group of Seven artists lived and worked in the Vancouver area during the 1930s.  While residing near Rice Lake in North Vancouver, Varley painted many of his great masterworks and his tenure in the area was not without controversy.  This look at the spiritually engaged ecological  aesthetics of local Group of Seven master Fred Varley promises to be a timely and informative learning event.
