Audition for William Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar

Auditions are drawing near for UFV Theatre’s production of William Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar, directed by Bruce Kirkley. While all members of the community are welcome to audition, please note that casting priority is given to those enrolled in UFV’s theatre program.

Audition dates are Tues, Oct 28 from 5–8pm and Wed, Oct 29 from 4:30–7:30 pm.

Those auditioning MUST be available for call backs on Tues, Nov 4 from 4:30–7:30 pm.
Performance run is March 4–15, 2015 at UFV’s Performance Theatre in Chilliwack (Yale and Airport Road)

Auditions will be booked in 15 minute time slots. Those auditioning will be given a scene from the play when they arrive. To prepare, please arrive with a familiarity of the script and characters. Those auditioning will be asked to fill out an audition form on the day of the audition, outlining previous performance experience and training as well as work, school, and personal schedule between October to December.

Rehearsals begin Jan 5, 2015 and will be held on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings as well as Sunday afternoons and/or evenings. Participating performers and crew members must be available for all technical and dress rehearsals as well as all public performances.

UFV students participating as actors in main stage productions will receive practicum credits for their participation. Students may also choose to sign up for backstage or front of house roles and receive practicum credits. Backstage roles may include lighting and sound operators, costume dressers, running crew, and make-up and hair assistants.
