Rock trucks travelling on Caen Avenue at Chilliwack campus at CEP

The Canada Lands Company in Chilliwack is in the beginning stages of a project that involves restoration work on the banks of the Vedder River. They have awarded the contract to Jake’s Construction, whose quarry is immediately south of the Vedder River Bridge. The route to the work area at the south end of Tyson goes right by the front door of the UFV Chilliwack campus at Canada Education Park. The company will be hauling 40 to 60 trucks a day.

These trucks will be traveling from Vedder Road across the Bridge, then west on Caen Avenue, to Tyson Road and then south on Tyson to the staging area on Petawawa, and then back again east on Caen to Vedder Road. The trucks will be passing twice, once full and once empty.

Please keep the Facilities team appraised (by calling local 4542, e-mailing: FacilitiesServiceDesk@ufv.ca or in-person) of any issues with that hauling, particularly dirt on the streets or dust, as the contractor is required to keep both under control.

My expectation is that they should be done by the end of September.
