Sun. Jan. 12, 6:30pm – UFV Winter Weather Watch

Update Sunday, Jan. 12 6:45pm

UFV is monitoring weather and road conditions across the Fraser Valley closely as environment Canada is forecasting arctic outflow winds and low wind chill values overnight, Monday, and into the early part of the week.

Be prepared for unusually cold temperatures and strong winds. Dress warmly in layers and stay dry. Cover as much exposed skin as possible.

Use caution and allow extra time for your commute and when travelling to, and around, UFV.

Next update at 6:00 am Monday, Jan 13, 2020.

    • Thank you for your comment – you’re right, we posted the closure online here just after 0530.
Which program do you attend please? Just seeing if there is anyway we can get messaging to that program more quickly. Although we have to evaluate a wide variety of factors and this takes time starting at 0430. Appreciate your patience.

    • Thanks for your question.
UFV is planning to be open tomorrow but we will make the final call at 0545 tomorrow. Many factors go into this decision, including forecasts, on the ground conditions, safety on the roads, and other factors that can be very difficult to predict the night before.
Please check ufv.ca at 5:45am tomorrow for updates.
