When I was asked if I would like to become the UFV Study Abroad blog editor, I jumped at the chance. I’m delighted to help develop a Study Abroad blog at UFV because I know firsthand how valuable this type of experience can be.

A year ago, I went abroad to study in Poland at the University of Arts in Poznań.  For five months, I had the opportunity to travel frequently, make unique, quality friends from around the world, and grow as an artist and individual.

I will graduate in June 2013 with a bachelor of arts in English and Visual Arts, and a Teaching English as a Second Language certificate.  Eventually, I want to travel more and teach English abroad since there is much more I’d like to see and learn about in our beautiful world and from the people in it.

I’m excited about this blog because I get to share some of my experiences. But what is even more exciting to me is the fact I get to read submissions and view photos from other Study Abroad students to find out how their travels have changed their lives.

If you are a current, former, or future Study Abroad student, please submit a post or comment. Your perspective is valuable and can help foster a dynamic community here at UFV.  Sharing your experiences may also help prospective Study Abroad students decide where they would like to go.

Our goal is to encourage and enable as many students as possible to travel, learn, and broaden their world. This site does not only feature a blog, but also provides Study Abroad information, both for outbound students and incoming visitors from abroad.

Before now, there has not been a specific place for UFV Study Abroad students to share about their experiences.  My hope for this blog is that it will bring students together and further encourage others students to realize the possibilities of travel, education, friendship, and life experience available to them through UFV.

Hope to see your photos and read your stories soon!
