ABB – Dining Hall – Upcoming Disruptive Work

WHO: Turner Construction, Gary Cable, Site Superintendent

WHEN: Beginning Wednesday, April 24 through to June 2024

WHERE: Abbotsford Campus Dining Hall Expansion Renovation

WHAT: The dining hall expansion will have noisy, disruptive work completed over the upcoming weeks.

Work being completed will included (but not limited to):

Level 1 & Level 2 Interior Slab removal (Medium to High Disruption – Will Begin Wednesday, April 24 – Estimated Completion, Wednesday, May 8.)
Includes three to five days of saw cutting on the patio, with some jackhammering intermittently.
Level 1 will have digging completed on site for approximately ten days.

Cement stair removal (Highest Disruption – Will Begin Friday, April 26 – Estimated Completion, Friday, May 3.)
Deconstruction of the staircase and removal will involve loud power tools, and concrete debris in the area. Vibrations, and loud noise is to be expected.

Excavation & Foundation Work (Highest Disruption – Will Begin Monday, May 6 – Estimated Completion in Four to Five weeks)
Excavation around future elevator pit, and foundation areas for the expansion. This will involve large and noisy equipment.
Foundation work will include drilling and boring, with eventual concrete pour.
Excavation and foundation work are expected to be noisy and disruptive.
