Responding to this dynamic situation has meant we have all had to be flexible and patient in order to get\u00a0 get through this crisis. Thank you for your understanding and for your continued perseverance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Primarily remote learning for remainder of the fall term:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To support the successful completion of the academic term, UFV is announcing the following measures:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All courses and programs will continue to be delivered remotely for the remainder of the academic term <strong>except for a limited number of courses and programs listed <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ufv.ca\/urgent-news\/2021\/12\/02\/update-courses-and-programs-approved-for-face-to-face-learning\/\">here.\u00a0<\/a><\/li>\n<li>These <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ufv.ca\/urgent-news\/2021\/12\/02\/update-courses-and-programs-approved-for-face-to-face-learning\/\">listed courses<\/a> will begin face-to-face instruction on Monday, December 6 and have been approved by the appropriate Dean in order to achieve requisite learning outcomes.<\/li>\n<li>Faculty and programs will provide students in these courses with the logistics of participating in face-to-face components safely. Students who are not able to access UFV safely will be provided with appropriate accommodations and\/or alternative options.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Final exams: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At this point, UFV is still optimistic that final exams scheduled in a face-to-face format will be offered on our campuses at their scheduled times and locations. A final decision regarding the location and delivery mode of final exams will be announced by December 9.<\/p>\n<p>This plan is based on current information, if conditions worsen, additional measures or changes to this plan may be adopted and will be communicated promptly.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Academic Concessions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We recognize the challenges that completing the Fall 2021 term presents. Please note:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Students who receive a <strong>final grade of C- or D can request to have their grade converted to credit (CR)<\/strong>. Students still receive credit for the course, but a CR grade is not calculated in the GPA. <strong>The form and further instructions will be available December 10.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Students who receive a <strong>final grade of F will automatically have their grade converted to an NCR (no credit)<\/strong>. No application is required. The NCR grade is not calculated in the GPA.<\/li>\n<li>Students who have spoken with their professors and have exhausted other options for course completion, such as an Incomplete grade, <strong>can choose to withdraw from a course<\/strong>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ufv.ca\/ai\/appeals\/late-withdrawal-appeal\/\">Information and the needed form<\/a> are now available. Note that <strong>students cannot withdraw if they have completed the final assignment for their course or if they have written the final exam.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>If you are opting to withdraw from a course AND you are on student loan, please connect with our<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ufv.ca\/fineaid\/\">Financial Aid team<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>UFV campuses are open:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All buildings will resume normal hours of operation in Abbotsford, Clearbrook, Chilliwack, Hope Centre, and Mission, with limited services being offered. Libraries at both the Abbotsford and Chilliwack campuses will resume operations according to <a href=\"https:\/\/library.ufv.ca\/about-the-library\/library-hours\/\">this schedule<\/a>. The Office of the Registrar will be open its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ufv.ca\/registrar\/contact\/\">usual hours<\/a> on all three campuses.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Campus Shuttle:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For the week of December 6 &#8211; 10, SUS will be operating the Campus Shuttle according to this <a href=\"http:\/\/ufvsus.ca\/campus-shuttle\">posted schedule<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Events:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With a few exceptions, on-campus events and activities are also cancelled during this period. Event and activity organizers will inform participants if an on-campus activity has been approved to continue.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Staff and academic support faculty:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Staff and Academic Support Faculty are asked to coordinate with their supervisor or manager where they will work:<\/p>\n<p>1) on campus if safe to travel to campus<\/p>\n<p>2) at a remote work location<\/p>\n<p>3) or if you require a leave and are unable to work due to the state of emergency caused by flooding.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Special leave: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please remember staff and faculty members impacted by the flood can use special paid leave through their manager, supervisor, or UFV Human Resources.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Support for students: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you know students who need support, please refer them through the <a href=\"https:\/\/can01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fufv-advocate.symplicity.com%2Fcare_report%2Findex.php%2Fpid465845%3F&amp;data=04%7C01%7Cdave.pinton%40ufv.ca%7C866f5107228640eaf70108d9aafb2f61%7Ca3d10b1dc22648f9a6db976df918187e%7C1%7C0%7C637728818073969229%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000&amp;sdata=dL9kanBZZWqxR1AjLiCS%2FVwLRM6mopYP4tamaFPedR0%3D&amp;reserved=0\">Priority Access to Student Supports (PASS)<\/a> system.
