{"id":1761,"date":"2021-11-25T05:52:13","date_gmt":"2021-11-25T13:52:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ufv.ca\/urgent-news\/?p=1761"},"modified":"2021-11-26T12:52:41","modified_gmt":"2021-11-26T20:52:41","slug":"flood-update-information-for-ufv-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ufv.ca\/urgent-news\/2021\/11\/25\/flood-update-information-for-ufv-students\/","title":{"rendered":"Flood Update: Information for UFV Students"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>UFV Students:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">In most cases, in-person learning will resume on Monday, November 29.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong>In some cases, professors,\u00a0<\/strong>in discussion with their department heads, directors, and deans, will choose to complete the term online rather than returning to in-person learning.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">It is\u00a0vitally important that you are\u00a0<strong>connecting<\/strong><strong>\u00a0to Blackboard and\/or checking your UFV email<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 depending on how your professor has been communicating through this crisis \u2013 so you are aware of next steps.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Professors expect that some students will need to be accommodated. If your class returns fully to in-person learning and you are unable to come to campus, please connect with your professor to work out a plan for you to complete the semester.<\/li>\n<li>Professors might also need to make some changes to their syllabi to ensure learning outcomes for their courses can still be met despite the 2-week disruption. You will be informed of any such changes by your professor.<\/li>\n<li>The final exam schedule remains in place. Many exams will continue as scheduled, while some may shift to online. Your professors will update you on any changes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Campuses:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">As has been the case the past two weeks,\u00a0<\/span>all student services will also continue to be available online and t<span style=\"color: #333333;\">he coming week will see more in-person service on campus. Staffing levels are dependent on the ability of staff to get to campus, so there could be some disruptions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Shuttle: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Student Union Society has indicated that the shuttle will be running Monday morning. In recognition of the current and ongoing challenges and disruption to learning, please note the following:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Students who receive a final grade of C- or D will be able to request a change to \u201ccredit\u201d for that course; a student who receives a final grade of F will be able to request a change to \u201cno credit\u201d for that course. UFV will provide more information on how to request this change, as well as the deadline for the request.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>If you struggle to complete a course because of your personal circumstances, please connect with your professors. They have a variety of options available to them to help you complete your course.<\/li>\n<li>If you\u2019ve exhausted all options for course completion, UFV has also extended the late withdrawal period as a last resort for students. Requests for withdrawal must be submitted prior to the scheduled final exam, if there is one, or prior to receipt of the final grade if there is no scheduled final exam.
