As the COVID-19 situation evolves, the University is adapting and providing education and services online wherever and whenever possible. So while the doors to some buildings and services may be closed, UFV remains open, active, and online.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Summer semester<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Classes for the summer semester will continue in an online or remote format only.<\/li>\n<li>There will be no face-to-face courses in any of the summer semester full, early, or late sessions.<\/li>\n<li>Students should continue to register for courses as they normally would through the end of the early registration period on March 27.<\/li>\n<li>All registration deposits are refundable if a student registers, but withdraws by April 20.<\/li>\n<li>Not all courses scheduled will be offered on-line.\u00a0On the other hand, some new courses not currently appearing in online calendars, may be provided.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Course withdrawal<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Students have until May 8, 2020 to voluntarily withdraw from courses for the winter term.<\/li>\n<li>You can choose to withdraw from a course with no adverse academic effect.<\/li>\n<li>For courses dropped during this new withdrawal period, a \u201cW\u201d will show on student\u2019s permanent record, but will not count as a course attempt when calculating repeat rules.<\/li>\n<li>Students with student loans should connect with Financial Aid (<a href=\"mailto:finaid@ufv.ca\">finaid@ufv.ca<\/a>) and athletes should connect with <a href=\"mailto:Alicia.Hurley@ufv.ca\">Alicia.Hurley@ufv.ca<\/a> prior to withdrawal.<\/li>\n<li>Students are able to withdraw from a course through their <a href=\"https:\/\/my.ufv.ca\/\">MyUFV<\/a> account.<\/li>\n<li>No further approval is required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Students with questions about withdrawal and the summer session should contact the Registrar\u2019s office directly at <a href=\"mailto:reginfo@ufv.ca\">reginfo@ufv.ca\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Parking lot Wi-Fi <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>UFV is providing access to Wi-Fi hotspots for students, faculty, and staff in several of our parking lots on the Abbotsford and Chilliwack campuses. This means you can drive up, maintain social or physical distance in your car, and access Wi-Fi. See <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ufv.ca\/urgent-news\/2020\/03\/18\/ufv-parking-lot-wifi-hotspots\/\">map<\/a> for locations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Computer Labs<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The following computer labs with social distancing measures are available:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Abbotsford: Building G room 210<\/li>\n<li>Chilliwack: Building A room 1202<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Campus access <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Please note:<\/strong> revised hours for all campuses and buildings located <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ufv.ca\/urgent-news\/2020\/03\/19\/campus-availability-week-of-march-23\/\">here<\/a>. The following is new information.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Student Union Building<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In order to further promote social and physical distancing the Student Union Building (SUB) will be closed at end of day on Wednesday, March 25, with access for SUS executive, and others who have offices in the building and who cannot work remotely.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Building T <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Applied and Technical Studies Building in Chilliwack will be closed as of 4pm Wednesday, March 25.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Student Services:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>UFV remains committed to supporting students through phone, virtual, and online services. Here is an <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ufv.ca\/urgent-news\/2020\/03\/24\/advising-and-counselling-services-still-available\/\">updated and complete list.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>UFV Bookstores <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ufv.ca\/bookstore\/\">UFV Bookstores<\/a> will be operating online in order to serve you while maintaining physical distancing measures.
