Abbotsford campus – Room B121
Chilliwack campuses – CEP Atrium at Starbucks

Help shape UFV’s future. Drop in any time between 9 am and 4 pm in Abbotsford and 1 pm and 4 pm in Chilliwack to provide your feedback and ideas for UFV’s 2016-2020 Educational Plan. The focus of the event is this question: “What FIVE GOALS must UFV achieve?”

Coffee and treats will be available!

Our visioning exercise began by posing the question:

What should UFV look like in 2025?

Your voices and ideas have shaped our answer: UFV 2025: A Vision for our Future.

Our next step, creating the Education Plan, 2016–20, begins with this question:

What are the five goals that UFV must achieve from 2016-20 to set ourselves up for 2025?

Consider this our collective call to action to help create our next Education Plan!

UFV 2025: A Vision for our Future was the first of its kind for UFV and happened because of your support, creativity, and involvement as staff, students, faculty, and members of the local community. We heard from you through presentations, unit submissions, forum discussions, an on-line “have your say,” a blog, comment walls, student focus groups, and student papers in a philosophy of education course. We listened. Thank you.

There are four commitments articulated in UFV 2025: A Vision for our Future:

In 2025, UFV will be

  • a community and regionally based university.
  • a learner- and student-focused university.
  • a university of social and intellectual development that supports lifelong learning and engaged citizenship.
  • a university in which learning drives the system and structure of the university, rather than the structure shaping the learning.

We now again call on you to collaborate, converse, and brainstorm implementable, observable, measurable, and powerful Education Goals to be achieved by 2020.

On November 20th, ‘Collaborative Goal PlanningCharettes will take place on the Abbotsford (B121) and Chilliwack (CEP Atrium at Starbucks) campuses. We encourage everyone to stop by any time between 9:00 and 4:00 in Abbotsford and 1:00 and 4:00 in Chilliwack. Coffee and treats will be available! The four commitments will be distributed throughout each room. Example goals from other institutions will be posted. Results will be taken back to the UFV 2025 Visioning Committee to consolidate our five Educational Goals as the core of the Education Plan, 2016-20. This document will proceed through the usual steps of our governance process: Faculty/College Councils, the Academic Planning and Priorities Committee, Senate, and the Board.

Your participation is vital to making our next Education Plan a document that represents all of our voices. We look forward to hearing from you on Nov 20.
