\u201cTime to Shine\u201d – <\/em>this is what I tell SLG leaders when I invite them to showcase the strategies they\u2019ve developed or drawn inspiration from. It\u2019s a moment to celebrate their work, inspire their peers, and learn from one another.<\/p>\n

After a year of facilitating sessions, experimenting with strategies, and supporting students through challenging courses, leaders get to showcase the approaches that had the greatest impact in their SLG sessions.<\/p>\n

During this session, leaders exchange techniques, reflect on what worked, and consider how these approaches could be applied across different courses and contexts.<\/p>\n

\"Image<\/a>One of the highlights from the recent session included geography leader Tyler\u2019s creative use of flashcards, where he demonstrated multiple ways to transform a simple study tool into an interactive and collaborative learning activity. From peer quizzing to group challenges, his ideas sparked conversation about how familiar tools can be reimagined to deepen engagement.<\/p>\n

Across presentations, several common themes emerged. Leaders shared innovative games designed to reinforce key concepts, strategies for creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, and the thoughtful use of humor to build connection. Others highlighted the power of storytelling in helping students make meaning of complex material, as well as creative approaches to structuring group work that encourage participation.<\/p>\n

\"close<\/a>This session was more than a showcase, it was a celebration of growth. It recognized the effort leaders have put in over the past year and provided a meaningful opportunity to reflect, share, and learn from one another.<\/p>\n
